Common Side Effects

- Upset stomach, heartburn, bloating or gas
- Nausea vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite
- Diarrhea/constipation

- ​Headache, dizziness or fatigue
- Low blood sugar (in type 2 DM)
- Swelling/redness/itching at injection site

Who Shouldn't Use It?

- ​A history of MEN2 (multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 or tumors in your glands)
- A personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma 
- A history of diabetic ketoacidosis
- A history of stomach or intestinal disorders (such as gastroparesis)
- A history of pancreatitis 

- ​A history of eye problems such as retinopathy caused by diabetes 
- Women who are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant, or are breastfeeding
- Those with a history of severe gallbladder disease, history of upper epigastric pain & jaundice. 
- Those with known allergic reactions
